Launchpad organizes your apps into a simple grid. You open it to find and start applications quickly. You have five main ways to launch it. Choose the method that fits your workflow.

The Dock sits at the bottom of your screen. You likely use this method already.

3.   Launchpad opens immediately.

If you do not see the icon, you must add it back.

1.   Open Finder.

2.   Click Applications in the sidebar.

3.   Find Launchpad in the list.

4.   Drag the icon down to your Dock.

5.   Release it where you want it to stay.

Use Trackpad Gestures

2.   Pinch them together.

3.   Launchpad appears.

If this gesture fails, you need to enable it.

  • Search: Start typing the name of an app immediately. Launchpad filters the icons as you type.
  • Folders: Drag one app icon on top of another to create a folder.
